Ongoing Ministries:
Ministry of Music:
Our choir rehearses each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. and sings at least one anthem during each Sunday service. Our Music Director, Sarah Moran, is always happy to work with individuals on solos, which we also incorporate into our Sunday worship experience. All are welcomed to join.
Ministry of Caring: Formed with the belief that we are all responsible for taking the love of our Christian community to those who
cannot be physically present, or who are going through difficult times, the Ministry of Caring is a calling group whose members visit with those who need encouragement and
uplifting. Do you enjoy visiting the sick, elderly, or shut-ins? This is a special "gift" you could give to others. There are also phone and card ministries.
Ministry of Prayer: An ongoing group in our Church for many years, the
Tuesday Prayer Group shares Christian fellowship over a casual lunch at noon, updates our Prayer List, and unites in prayer for those in our circle of concern. Many from within our church family submit
names of family and friends who we uphold and support through prayer. This group meets in the Gilman House every Tuesday at noon and always welcomes new members. Meeting length
varies from 1 - 1.5 hours. Bring a bag of goodies to eat, enjoy the laughter, and share the prayerful concerns.
Youth Ministry:
The First Baptist Church seriously focuses
on the needs of all aged children, from newborns to 7th graders. Emphasis is given to inter- generational worship and the inclusion of young people in varied activities. There are three main age
classifications (as below). Our youth are happy and creative ... and always welcome new friends. |

Parents
Room (adjacent to sanctuary): The Parents' Room is an area at the back of the sanctuary, open for parents and their younger children from newborns to age three. Children are in either a crib or quiet play area while the parents are still part of the worship service on Sunday mornings. The room is partitioned off with a large observation window, as well as sound speakers. There are sliding windows which can be opened for worship participation as well. Click here to see photos.
Nursery (ages newborn to 3 years): The Nursery is an alternative to the Parents' Room. It is a separate nursery facility in the Sunday School area downstairs, furnished with a rocker, play equipment, etc. Click here to see photos.
Primary Junior Church (ages 4 years to 2nd grade): The Primary aged children remain with parents during the first half of the regular intergenerational worship on Sunday morning and then depart for their
Sunday School rooms for the last half of the service (except during summer months). Click here to see photos.
' Middler' Junior Church (ages 3rd grade to 7th grade): These middle aged children also remain with parents during the first half of the Sunday worship service and depart for their Sunday School rooms with
the others (except during summer months). Click here to see photos.
' Kids-Sing' : All ages of children combine their voices, movement, and laughter when
they present their own music during the Sunday worship service.
Camps: Our youth regularly attend Grotonwood and Oceanwood, Christian camps and conference centers that share love and learning through camping and other youth programs. Check out www.campgrotonwood.org.

Womens Fellowship: The First Baptist Church opens its Memorial Hall at 11:00 a.m. on every first and third Thursday of each month to any women who want to gather together to provide
opportunities for small group studies, fellowship, inspiration, and especially outreach to others. From 11:00 a.m. to noon, a small group study of the women of the Bible occurs, followed by a bag lunch,
laughter, and friendship. Then there is a "service" time to our congregation and the community. There are many crafts projects, Sunshine Bags for the sick and shut-in's, packing and
shipping Care Packages to our US soldiers, and helping with any special needs of our community. The Womens Fellowship reaches out to all, in order to praise God and love one another.

Adult Learning:

Bible Studies: First Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Ludwig, frequently sponsors small group Bible studies for adults. Recent studies have included the Gospel of John and 1 Corinthians. Bible studies meet in the evening at convenient hours and are a wonderful way to get to know other FBC family members.
Network: Periodically a "gift" discernment course entitled "Network" has been taught with tremendous success. The goal of Network is to help each one of us to identify our primary spiritual gift, and how to best use that gift in Christian servanthood.
We Are Baptists: This seven session
course is also taught at FBC. Its goal is to present the basics of Baptist belief. Our intergenerational group welcomes participants, members or non, young or old, who wish to renew their knowledge
of what it means to be a Baptist, or to explore the paths leading to baptism and membership.
